L’Oréal Paris Rouge Caresse Lipsticks Aphrodite Scarlet and Mauve Cherie - Review, Swatches

I am probably one of the last Indian beauty bloggers to write about the L'Oreal Paris Rouge Caresse lipsticks but that's only coz I tried them recently, nearly two months after they released. I've never been too fond of sheer glossy lip colors so stayed away from them but thanks to L'Oreal who sent a couple for review, I've actually become quite a fan!

Read on to know my thoughts on two shades from the Rouge Caresse range - Aphrodite Scarlet and Mauve Cherie

The Rouge Caresse lipstick has a flutter of kissable, soft, colour. Its delicate texture glides onto lips creating a veil of colour with a luminous shine. It adds a desired pop of color with a meltingly soft application.

These lipsticks come in a transparent packaging with a silver bullet and looks similar to the Infallible range. They have a color coded sticker at the bottom which helps to figure out the color of the lipstick. The packaging is sturdy and travel friendly as the cap shuts tightly and won’t come off easily. L'Oreal kindly sent me two shades from the Rouge Caresse range - Aphrodite Scarlet and Mauve Cherie and I can't thank them enough coz these were the only shades I actually liked from this range.

Aphrodite Scarlet is a juicy warm toned watermelon pink and is perfect for summer. Mauve Cherie is a cool toned pinkish mauve color which looks so pretty on the lips. Mauve Cherie is more suited for those with fair to medium skin tones. It will most probably wash you out if you are above NC 43.

I'm really liking the light and soft texture of these lipsticks. They are not sticky, do not accentuate lip lines and give a nice shine to the lips. They are definitely not as pigmented as regular lipsticks but are not too sheer either. Aphrodite Scarlet I've read is the most pigmented of the lot but on me, Mauve Cherie gives better color payoff. If you have very pigmented lips, these lipsticks are probably not for you unless you want to layer them on top of your regular lipsticks and use as a gloss. Don't expect 5-6 hours of wear time but you will get around three hours out of them. Aphrodite Scarlet leaves a pretty stain on fading and that lasts for a couple of hours. Mauve Cherie does not stain my lips.

I won't say these lipsticks are very hydrating but if you want something light on your lips for summer, try out the Rouge Caresse range specially these two shades. I'm sure you will love them. And I'm so glad L'Oreal made them affordable at Rs 499 each. With brands hiking prices practically everyday, this sure is a treat! For more information on the Caresse range, click HERE
